Network
ESN Torino is part of a continuously growing international network. The association is currently present in 43 countries with more than 530 local sections and more than 15.000 volunteers actively involved.
What does “being part of a network” mean?
Firstly, ESN, its logo and it values are recognized in a vast territory: such aspect is relevant for potential partnerships at local, national and international level. Indeed, to give the most relevant example, the international level has a constant dialogue with the European institutions -particularly the European Commission.
Moreover, a lot of events can count on partners to fund part of the expenses and let the participants pay a fee lower than what it would be without any agreement of this kind. What encourages potential partners to invest in this kind of activities is the visibility ensured towards a large audience of young people coming from a wide variety of countries.
Being part of a network means people from different countries connecting thanks to their membership in ESN. Every year there is a wide range of events for volunteers with the aim of meeting and exchanging best practices. Indeed, ESN is an effective means to gain useful communication, organization, technological skills that will turn out precious when looking for a job.
When talking about connection between volunteers, it is not just about the exchange of best practices, but also about the creation of bonds between volunteers: since ESN is a network made of people, advocating for the same values make it possible to find reliable friends all around. ESNers can confirm that thanks to the association they built friendships that go beyond the organization itself.
ESN Italia
ESN Italy is the national network of ESN sections in Italy.
ESN Italy was born on the 22nd of October 1994 by the 7 oldest sections in Italy (Siena, Parma, Pavia, Milano, Trento, Bologna and Genova). Nowadays ESN Italy is made of more than 50 sections.
The National Board is composed by the President, the Vice President, the Treasurer, the National Representative, Communication Manager, Project Coordinator and the Event Manager.
The aim of the association is to facilitate mobility of university students in Europe:
- By welcoming and giving advice to foreign students hosted for a period of study at an Italian university (through a tutoring service and the organisation of cultural and recreational events that promote the integration of foreign students in the local university);
- By providing an updated information service on European programs of inter-university exchanges;
- By developing a systematic evaluation of these programs, through the experience of the students who took part.
ESN Italy organizes annually three big events:
- ICE - Incontro Culturale Erasmus: 3 days of cultural events in the capital of Italy, Rome, with 2,500 Erasmus students from all over Italy
- EN - Evento Nazionale: the most known and the biggest event which brings together more than 3000 students for the most unbelievable days of their Erasmus
- NEG - National Erasmus Games: the most loved events for the most sportive students who will challenge themselves in some national sports competitions

ESN International
Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is the biggest student association in Europe.
It was born on the 16th October 1989 and legally registered in 1990 for supporting and developing student exchange.
We are present in more than 1000 Higher Education Institutions from 39 countries.
The network is constantly developing and expanding. We have around 13,000 active members that are in many sections supported by so-called buddies mainly taking care of international students. Thus, ESN involves around 40,000 young people offering its services to around 350,000 international students every year.
ESN is working in Higher Education (HE):

offering services to 350,000 students
-
13,000 active members (34,000 with the buddies included)
-
mainly on a volunteer basis
-
with an average annual growth rate of 12% since 2005
-
ESN is operating on three levels: local, national, and international.
