Easter Egg

Did you know that the typical chocolate Easter egg was born in Turin?

Its origins go back to the 18th century, when the nobles enjoyed eating chocolate eggs made by filling real shells with liquid chocolate.
Later on, at the beginning of the last century, “Casa Sartorio” started making them using bigger artificial shells and in a few years the patisseries of Turin began putting little surprises inside the eggs.

More recently the Piedmontese company Ferrero invented the famous Kinder Surprise “to give to children the joy of Easter every single day”.
