Summary:
From the 7th to the 9th of November, Rome transformed into an international stage thanks to ICE, Incontro Culturale Erasmus (Erasmus Cultural Meeting). An event that brings together thousands of Erasmus students for a weekend dedicated to culture, art, an

CULTURAL EVENING: NIGHT VISIT TO THE CAPITOLINE MUSEUMS

One of the most evocative moments of ICE was the night-time visit to the Capitoline Museums, normally closed to the public in the evening but opened exclusively for the delegations of the network on this occasion. In this cultural gem, students took part in a treasure hunt among statues, frescoes, and iconic symbols such as the Capitoline Wolf, discovering the origins of Rome in an engaging and original way. The visit concluded on the museum terrace, offering a breathtaking view of the Capital’s monuments framed by a starry sky.

A JOURNEY THROUGH HISTORY: FROM THE ANCIENT TO CONTEMPORARY ROME

The cultural programme did not end there. In fact, it continued by guiding international students through some of the city’s most important historical and artistic sites, including the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and Palazzo Braschi. From ancient Rome to modern and contemporary Rome, the journey continued with a professionally guided city tour, leading participants through iconic streets and historic landmarks, leaving everyone in awe of the Eternal City’s incomparable beauty.

FLAG PARADE: THE BEATING HEART OF ICE

The cornerstone of the event, however, was the Flag Parade: a party which, every year, fills the streets of Rome with people, flags, and languages from all over the world. A mosaic of cultures animating the city to the rhythm of music, perfectly embodying ICE’s motto: unity in diversity. A meaningful moment that reflects the positive impact of international mobility and the central role of ESN in Europe.

Once again, it becomes clear that Erasmus is far more than academic study, it is an experience shaped by culture and global connections — an experience that finds its fullest expression in ICE.
