From the 17th to the 20th of October 2024, the picturesque city of Aveiro, Portugal, was the backdrop for one of ESN's most anticipated events: the South Western European Platform (SWEP).
In this magical setting, volunteers from Italy, Spain, Portugal, France and Malta came together for four intense days, dedicated to stimulating workshops and debates on relevant topics such as international mobility and European citizenship, as well as a fruitful exchange of best practices.
Representing the Turin section were three delegates, accompanied by Bicerino, our mascot, symbol of unity and team spirit.
Each section contributed its own way; representing our section was our Local Representative, Gabriele, who shared with those present the importance of storytelling as a tool for publicising ESN with various external stakeholders such as volunteers, associations and business partners. The session therefore was focused on methods to convey ESN's story and values effectively.
But SWEP goes beyond workshops: it is a real crossroads of relationships and sharing, an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between sections and improve each one. Here, bonds are woven that transcend the boundaries of volunteering, uniting young people moved by the same desires and enthusiasm.
Back in Turin, we take with us not only a suitcase full of souvenirs, but also many new assets and precious memories, which can only speed up our constant journey of improvement.
An experience that has enriched the lives of our delegates and, although indirectly, those of us all.
