Piazza Vittorio Veneto

Piazza Vittorio Veneto (also called Piazza Vittorio or Piazza Vitto) is the biggest square of Turin and one of the most important. We can find Grand Madre church, Murazzi zone along the river Po and lots of bars and restaurants. In fact, Piazza Vittorio is one of the most popular place for young people to go out and have fun. It was born in XIX century as a request by the King to extend the city towards the river, and his first name was “Vittorio Emanuele I” square. By night, this beautiful square is enlightened by his majestic streetlights and you can also enjoy the view of Grand Madre church with his lights. Sunset hour is the best time to spend in Piazza Vittorio because we can see the sun coming down and the square become magic. Piazza Vittorio is iconic for Torino people because on the 24th of June, every year, we celebrate our Holy Patron and the party starts with fireworks or, in the last two years, a drone show.
