A complex, yet extraordinary network
During this edition of SWEP, participants had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of how ESN works — from the different organisational levels and the roles within them, to the history of the association itself. It became evident that ESN’s true beauty lies in its complexity: a structured network capable of creating a real impact on the lives of students across Europe.
Another key topic was recruitment and section care, addressed through workshops and discussions panels on how to attract new volunteers, value their contributions, and support their path within the association — a fundamental aspect in keeping sections strong, motivated, and inclusive.
SWEP means culture, exchange and identity
However, SWEP is not only about training. It is also a moment to celebrate diversity, encourage cultural exchange, share different perspectives and showcase the richness of one’s roots.
The Mobility Fair embodied this spirit, allowing each section to present a piece of its own local world. The celebration continued with an international dinner, where participants shared traditional dishes from their regions, accompanied by an evocative performance of traditional Galician dances — a heartfelt tribute to the customs and heritage of the host region.
An event that leaves a mark
The 2025 edition of SWEP exceeded participants’ expectations, as shown by the feedback by our volunteers from Turin:“It’s amazing because you get the opportunity to truly experience a new country, one you may never have had the chance to explore so closely before.”
“It’s been an incredible event! I had a great time and discovered things I didn’t know. I highly recommend that my fellow volunteers go next year because it’s worth it.”
Once again, SWEP proved to be a valuable source of inspiration and knowledge for all participating ESN sections. Each volunteer comes back home with new skills, fresh ideas, and renewed motivation to help their section grow — a testament to how the ESN can foster active engagement and cooperation among people beyond national and cultural borders.
